The Washington County Sheriff's Office has identified the two people who died in yesterday's plane crash.
75-year-old Gary Hawes, of St. George, and Brad Brian, 38, of Washington, were killed when the single-engine aircraft they were flying apparently lost power and crashed on a hillside just southwest of Santa Clara. Hawes was a flight instructor at the Above View Jet Center, a St. George-based flight school where Brian was a student.
The Sheriff's Office is working with representatives from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board to determine the cause of the crash.
